# Contributing

Use Node 22.19+. Run `npm ci`, `npm run check`, and `npm run verify:packages`. Tests are offline and must not require credentials. Live examples are explicitly opt-in.

Keep the interpreter independent of providers and application policy. Add adapters at the existing `runNode`, `runJudge`, or `runEffect` boundary. Include a regression that proves a changed execution invariant and retain existing workflow behavior. Do not weaken checks or silently convert errors to success.

Document breaking changes and observable failure behavior. Rebuild the generated schema after changing workflow types (`node scripts/generate-schema.mjs`) and regenerate the site (`npm run build:site`) after changing examples or docs. Do not edit generated traces by hand.

Publication is pending ownership and license decisions. No contribution licensing agreement or public governance policy is implied by this candidate.
